Principal's Message
Thank you to our amazing and courageous children who showcased their talents last Friday! The baking was Master Chef worthy, the Lego, Lego Master's worthy, the Art pieces deserve their own gallery and the talent wonderful! Of course, this wouldn't happen without the behind the scenes organisation by the P&F and their always reliable group of volunteers. We'll leave it to them to celebrate the magic sum raised, however I'd like to share with you the additions to our school since 2021 which would not be possible without their support:
- GaGa Pit
- Landscaped sandpit
- Mud Kitchens
- New playground
- Robots for Digi-Tech
- Soccer nets
- Fibreglass basketball backboards (which we hope are cocky proof)
- Reimagination of the Library space
- Crossball volleyball nets
- Reimagination of the hall space
This has added an additional six play zones to the big side of the playground which is awesome!
We look forward to meeting with them to plan for future developments.
As we happily move into warmer, sunnier weather, please ensure your child/ren have their hats and roll on sunscreen with them everyday. We do, in accordance with our Sunsmart Policy, have a 'no hat no play' approach to protecting children from sun exposure. We appreciate your ongoing support in this approach to keeping our children safe.
Have an absolutely lovely long weekend, our children seem particularly weary and the four day weekend comes at a timely point in time.
Take care if you are travelling,
Bec

Emergency Management
As we approach warmer weather, we would like to share with you the arrangements in place for days that are rated Catastrophic.
St James is listed on the Bush Fire at Risk Register (BARR). This means that on days that are rated as Catastrophic the school will be required to close.
Where possible DOSCEL will notify St James Principal 4 - 7 days prior, to enable parents/carers and the community to be forewarned, however this may not always be possible.
Once the decision to close the school is made, it will not be altered, regardless of any changes in the weather forecast. This will assist in limiting confusion and help families plan for how their children will be cared for when the school is closed.
When the school is closed in response to bushfire or grassfire risk, no one, including staff, contractors and other users will be permitted on site.
In the event that the school is required to close for a period of time, Leadership and staff will consult and communicate with families on how student learning will continue.
School Fee Accounts
Final Fee Statements for 2024 have been issued to all families. Please check your emails (including spam/junk email) for these statements.
As we approach the end of the year, we ask that all fee accounts are finalised. If you already have a payment arrangement in place, this arrangement will continue.
We ask that any outstanding fee balances are addressed as a matter of priority. If you have any concerns with the payment of your fees, please contact Bec Kollaris for a confidential conversation.
