Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Yesterday, staff were involved in deepening their understanding of St James. This was led by Sr Rose from the Diocese and we all found it to be very relevant for us, especially as we celebrate our 50th year as St James Catholic Primary School.
St James is known as St James the Greater. The additional title of 'Greater' sets him apart from all other Saints as he was one of Jesus' first Apostles and the first to be martyred for his belief in Christianity and his close relationship with Jesus. James along with his brother John and Peter were the three Apostles Jesus held in his closest confidence.
Next term our senior students (Yr4 6) will participate in Winter Sports- football, netball and newcombe. We have been fortunate to be allocated all home games! The dates for these are August 1, 15, 29 and September 5. We will require parent support in order to participate in this competition to help with umpiring each sport. As in previous years, we have Winter Sport falling on Grandparents Day August 29. Further information will be forwarded in the coming weeks.
You may have seen our school premier on Channel 9 last night. We were fortunate to be one of three schools chosen to represent our Diocese as we launch Catholic Education Week. Jump onto the below link to see our schools in action.
Have a great week, Bec Kollaris

Lost Property
Each day a number of items are brought to the office as "lost property". If names are on items they are returned to the child, however there is a large amount that do not have names or have names of past students. This is a timely reminder to ensure that you are naming all your children's garments.
A lost property box has been put in the Admin Foyer. Parents are welcome to check this at any time. At the end of each term, this box will be emptied and items donated to the second hand uniform shop.
